The main thing is how long it will take to go down from Fira downtown to the port - the cable car ride is just a few minutes but it may not be running at full capacity. For us, it was so the down journey was less than 10 minutes including a short wait. The boat itself was mostly but not completely full - it was easy to check in and find a spot to sit. They played music that was a little loud but not too bad. The volcano was fun - the island itself wasn't that interesting but…”

“the volcano was great and really interesting. hard slog up but fabulous views and i love the information from the guide along the way. hot springs were great but not long there (its more like warmish spring) and the trip t thirissia was great. by the time we climbed the stairs.... there was 45 mins to eat lunch and get back down to the boat! not so keen on the slow sail back to fira!”

“Booked this last minute and glad we did. The boat wasn’t as advertised and was a ferry instead but we quite enjoyed this glimpse into local life. Walking in the volcano crater was a great experience and the village of Mandraki is beautiful. Barbara the guide walked us through the village and we had a chance to try some free samples of goods we could buy. She also took us to a taverna and we had lunch there (not included in price). It was a lovely spot and the food was excellent. Had plenty of free time to explore the village and the gift shops. Transfers from coach to boat…”

“The tour was a bit crowded but the hike up the volcano was cool. The hot springs was a really short time by the time everyone got in the water it was time to go. The hot springs weren’t hot or really luke warm.”

“Getting tickets for the boat is totally disorganised and like a feeding frenzy around the ticket person with everyone trying to get their ticket. The volcano tour is great but tiring. The swimming is for approximately 10 minutes. Unfortunately the sunset in Oia was a bust due to cloud cover.”

“Lovely trip out around the volcano and islands, walk up volcano was doable in good shoes but very hot in july, hot springs/sulfer swim was great fun (dont wear white), second swim was refreshing, dinner was great and plentiful, host was knowledgable and friendly, sunset views at the end was super great, party atmosphere after sunset back to harbours was fun. We were happy with the day out on the boat”

Luckily he took the time to instill confidence in me by taking baby steps with breathing, slowly descending to practice ear pressure control, and then learning the basics of underwater buoyancy. After doing this I was way more comfortable in just a matter of minutes…”
