“The activity was very good and worth the money. Our guide, Thomas, was very knowledgable and very good. A true follower of "Pausanias". However, I would note that, the restaurants they take us to are on the expensive side. Esp in Meteora, the restaurant palazzo: the pricing is very confusing, it is a buffet style restaurant, but not exactly and the bill ends up unnaturally expensive. The lamb i ordered had some hair and fur stuck to it. luckily the owner compensated the price of my plate, but it was still not a good experience there. But the guide is exceptional.”

Our train was cancelled because of the record rainfall that the area was receiving. George from Visit Meteora arranged to have Evan, one of his drivers pick us up in Athens and drive us to Kalabaka. About 1/2 way there the highway was closed due to flooding. George arranged for us to have very nice lodgings and the next morning Evan was able to get us there because of his knowledge of the roads. Hotel was Amalia hotel 4 star, and the dinner and breakfast buffet was excellent.
